In effort to save as much plaster as possible in my 1930’s bungalow, I would like to not put a header above my closet opening when I take it from having a single door to a double door. It is NOT a weight bearing wall – but I still have some concerns. There might be a way to add on to the existing header, because I am not raising the height of the door – just making it wider. Any advice would be great. Email to [email protected]
