I have a 1896 queen Anne with stone foundation. On viewable interior and exterior we see “mortar”, so would expect that is also below grade. Water drainage issues has caused holes in foundation with “pouring” in of water during rainstorms. More Gutters needed to drain water more effeciently, for sure…any specific things I should ask and look for? Also, suggestions given to me to: pour blacktop around foundation and curve to drain water away from home or to install some underground drainage pipe to a dry well that should be located away from home to drain water away. What are the expert opinions on this major water issue. Last rainstorm caused approx. 4 inches of water to pour into basement…..help.
