Help with dreadful A Frame Design
Hi,
We live part time in New Zealand and also in Utah- talk about a mind warping experience! We are considering buying an large A Frame that is in excellent shape but is very dated. The A frame design really limits good utilization of space and we would like to convert it but I am pretty clueless as to how to remodel it into a more conventional, usuage design. Does anyone have any suggestions on books or articles about how to convert A frame buildings? Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Wendy

You may try posting your question on the Breaktime forum. Seems like it could be changed--maybe to a gambrel roof. This post will at least bump you up so others can have a chance to answer.
Thanks, I will try that!
You could put gable ends in the ridge line depending on how wide a ridge you may get away with two or three. This would give some more space and keep things interesting to look at. Or put up a shed dormer which wouldn't look out of place. If all else fails google 'a frame designs' or something to that effect I'm sure there will be entire web pages designated to the A Frame.
Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate it.
