I am starting to do basic building work: framing, drywall, doors, windows, etc. I have looked for books without success. Can anyone recommend a good book on how to build from prints? The idea is that I learn how to take a set of prints, lay out the floor, walls, ceilings, roof, and build it.
Thank you in advance,

Sorry.
I do not know of any print materials, but think you could certainly start googling and find what you want.
However, most community colleges will have a class pertaining to the owner builder. There might even be hands on training included as lab work.
I might suggest the opposite approach, which I think you'll find more help with.
Rather than looking for books on reading plans, look instead for books on drawing plans. This is what I did when faced with the challenge of drawing plans for our house. I started with a basic high school drafting text book and a piece of CAD software.
After drawing and studying for a while you'll soon begin to understand reading them.
Also, if you have any friends, relatives, associates with plans lying around, gather them up as fodder.
You're welcome to ours if you like. PM me if interested.
You need a carpentry textbook. There is one by Willis Wagner called Modern Carpentry.
