Hello again everyone! After nearly a year of being offline (just got around to getting the net here at my “new” house), I’m finally able to return to FHB and Breaktime.
Just thought I would tell y’all “rough” carpenters in here (Joe C and Dieselpig) that my business is now a year old and doing fairly well. I just completed framing my parents’ beach house and deck and I’m still doing a fair amount of PM for them as well. I have pics if I can figure out how to post them.
I’ve also upped the ante of tools quite a bit–a new 6×10 enclosed trailer that’s a rolling hardware store. And yes, as for the current discussion, the new Bosch 1590 is the Caddie of jig saws–much better than any DW I’ve used. The Mak impact driver is also great.
I’ll be out of town through Sunday, but I will check in again Sunday PM if not sooner. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I turned 22 on the 19th and my wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on the 15th--it's been a great if not eventful first year. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her!

welcome back, was wondering what happened to you.
Oh yeah, you were down in Bama, werent ya. Spent a couple of years in Montgomery. Man I do miss some of that cooking. Want to send me some fresh shrimp and a new Bama Tshirt. My old one's full of holes (I know, down south, that just makes it better)

Someone said you were in Montgomery. I live in TAllassee which is just north and east of Montgomery. About 20 miles.
What were you doing here and where do you live now?
I'm also looking for a covered trailer for my trim tools. Want about a 6x12.

Maybe we should get a couple dozen guys together that want to buy a trailer and approach a manufactuer for a group purchase discount.
be a bargain hunter
Count me in on the trailer deal. 6x10 or 6x12 would be perfect.
Jason, welcome back. Post some pics of your work when you get a chance!

I'm in Mobile, but I go through Montgomery about once a month on the way to Sylacauga to see my MIL--actually was up there last week for Thanksgiving.
I bought a 6x10 and put two modular steel/plywood utility shelf units from Lowes in it. These store my hand tools and all my portable power tools. Built a plywood rack for my guns and a couple of plywood boxes (screwed to the floor); one holds miscellaneous junk and the other has a compartment each for 12 and 8 penny sinkers. On the driver side I have about six hooks I screwed to the frame to hold my hoses and cords, and beneath them are my step ladders, which I tie down between two eyebolts with a piece of leftover Romex. My compressor and 12" CMS just fit in the middle "aisle." I also have a hardware "organizer" with various fasteners and a tool box filled with assorted gun nails on the passenger side floor. Maybe I'll take some pics tomorrow and see about posting them.
Wished I'd have bought the 6x12 V-hull now for $200 more but not sure if truck would pull much more at highway speeds (99 Chevy 4wd with 102K).
