Help me decide where to locate the watertable element.
I am setting my Hardie on a Watertable that is covered w/ cu.
Start at top of block? or below the mud sill. I have premade WTable stock that is 1 5/8 wide, I don’t recall the name of the planchard or board that it is supposed to sit on..but around here I see a 5/4 x 10…I also don’t have that stock or bucks to buy it.
I intend to tack a 2x and set the table w/ 2” fin nails to the wall, then remove the temp 2x and screw from underside to the wall, with a c-sink or trim head scrw.
I wil have a verticle transition where the log house joins the new addition, and can jog a full course of hardie, if needed.
But ya gotta follow something..do I cover the mud sill w/ a board below, or what?
I appreciate yer insights..

why me lord ? what did i ever do to you ?
i don't have all the particulars, but the TWO watertables i've done were both the same
the face was a 1x10 with a 15 deg. rip on top, and the table was a 5/4 x 3 on a 15 deg slope
if you want the 1x10 to appear thicker ( like your 5/4 x 10) shim the back
( maybe 20 deg... ah heck... i you go 20 , might as well go 22 1/2 deg )
anyways.. the WT bottom was about 1/2" below the bottom of the sheathing... which was even with the bottom of the mudsill
hope this clears it all up

LOL.
I love ya.
Ok, I will keep the WT at T.O.B., my sheathing is proud of block by it's thickness, band or rim is flush and not sheathed ( hey, I dint build it).
I'll not fester on the thickness as much as the elevation.
I picked you to ask cuz you know a lot of tricks...and you need to exercise the brain at your age, just to thwart dementia.

I have a lot going on here, and I lost focus more than I care to admit..and I plumb forgot about that detail.
You da man.
