Found a real good use for HF drills, got mor’n the $6 cost of these 3 HF 12 volt’ers from educational aspects. <G> Gonna have to buy another, hear another Grandson is on the way.
BTW, the 18 V HF batteries at $8 on sale are good replacements/extras for DW 18 V at 1/10th the price. A little rework needed.
Edit, whoops sorry about the attachment size.

Looks like your crew is having a ball! I've been getting my 5-yr old (boy) out in the shop to start watching some small jobs - darned rewarding to get good questions.

Art,
I'm wondering if those HF 12 volters will fit my porter cable 12 volters ?
I'll try to remember to bring one along next time I see you.
Politics: The blind insulting the blind.
The cells from inside the HF are NiCd sub-c, 1.2 A-hrs, I've had good luck replacing cells in both DW and Makita packs with the HF cells. Cheaper to buy the HF battery pack, works out to less than 80 cents per HiCd cell.
Good deal.
The next purchase should be safety glasses for your young crew. With striking tools, aerosols, etc. all in the shop, everyone's eyes should be protected.

I'm kind of partial to my HF rotary hammer, myself.
It's definately on the weak side, but if I'm using a flat chisel to scrape tile, or a 3/16th drill for a tapcon, it wins the battle with the concrete every time.
