I have a high pressure system designed by the manufacture I will be installing. The install calls for spiral metal duct or duct board type distribution system. I loose blood or lung capacity with the manufacture recomended options. I am much more comfortable working with 8″ PVC than metal. I am considering manufacturing the distribution system from PVC and manufacture provided 2″ flex duct; and having a mechanical sub install the transition sheet metal to connect the dots.’ Has anyone worked a duct system of this type with 8″ or 10″ PVC?
For me it is much easier to cut holes in, support, and connect the parts. It is only marginally more expensive than good spiral wound duct work. I am unsure of how to connect the manufacture provided transition pieces going from 8″ duct to 2″ flex duct for final room distribution.
