I only do occasional framing during a remodel, or a few members, but I thought a framing gun would be a good thing to have.
I was looking at the NR90AC3 because the new Hitachi N90AD (clipped) is having issues holding up over time.
Then I saw the NV75 Siding/ Framing Coiler, I figure it wouldnt hurt to have siding capability as well, but it says it will only take up to 3 inch nails. Are 3 1/2 necessary?
Is this gun a good all around compromise, and money saver rather than buying 2, or rocks in my head?

Their was a recent post that this was just discussed, I have the siding nailer I know the one your talking about is about 1# heavier, but it would seem to me that it would be a fairly good combo for what you described as your needs. For light remod. I wouldn't think 3" nails would make that big a difference.
I'am very happy with the quality of the sider

Just bought the NV75 combo today - 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' from the clerks and other tradesmen. Likewise surprised at the 3" max. However, I have never used longer than 3" in 18 yrs of hammering and 12 yrs of air. Why? Dunno, really. I guess I didn't like picking up paired lumber and getting sharp points of the 3-1/4"s poking thru. Part of the reason I was wanting to return it was my "I don't deserve it" syndrome. Of course it cost hundreds more ($840 Canadian), and yeah, it does look like flimsy plastic, but, hey, I gotta treat myself once in a while.
Course, this doesn't answer your Q. But what the heck, I gotta let someone know!!!
ciao for niao
To those who know - this may be obvious. To those who don't - I hope I've helped.
