I enjoy using Home Depot since we have no Lowes or much of anything else, but late last year HD changed their no.2 framing pt lumber grading system. Home Depot’s only real lumber competitor was selling their no.2 pt framing lumber less than HD prices, which in turn HD would have to match and beat by 10%. Slick as they can be, all HD’s pt framing 2x lumber starting showing up with a No.1 grade stamp on it. Funny thing is nothing changed but the grade stamp. Still full of big numerous knots and splits and bark edges and the usual crap. So no price match because their lumber is “no.1” grade. I guess buying power rules. Anyone else seeing this?
