Hey everyone, so I’m currently working a home Reno, and the customer decided to buy his own hardwood before I took a look at the job. As luck would have it the hardwood is non-refundable. So I’m just looking to find out how you would go about doing something like this.
The nose landing for the stairs is approx 1/2inch and the hardwood is 3/4inch. What are the alternatives to making it as flush as possible without actually ripping out the stair casing and landing.
The homeowners are looking for the most cost effective method as I told them that if I were to do that of course I would have to charge them. Any feedback is greatly appreciated thank you!

If I understand your question, I would see if I could raise the existing nosing or purchase new (3/4”), provided it didn’t compromise existing codes regarding treads and risers.
