I was looking into a dingy crawlspace and wasn’t sure if I was seeing what I thought I was. It looked like several (two or three) galvanized drain lines were just shoved into a large (8 inch?) cement line which went about 5 feet into my septic tank. There is evidence of some sewage leaking although I am not sure exactly where. The septic tank is small and has probably never been pumped out so I was thinking of getting that done first Is it possible that the pipes were not connected in anyway but just king of stuffed in there? If they are is that O.K. and if pumping out the tank gets rid of the leak could I just leave it and get away with it? If I am going to replace all the drain pipes what is the best way to go from black plastic into cement? Or would I be better off just removing the cement and going directly into the tank? I am probably going to remove the floor of the bathroom soon so I will be able to get a better look at what exactly is going on in the stinky crawl space. Fun, Fun.
Thanks in advance. Brian
