I find that there are parts of the ceiling that I haven’t glued that have no cracks, but that are very slightly spongey or have a little play in them when I press up. The movement when I press up is 1/32nd of an inch or less. On most parts of the ceiling the plaster is firm and tight to the lathes, but some some areas have a little give that I mentioned.

I am repairing the horsehair plaster ceiling in my bedroom of my 100 year old house, the room is approx 20′ x 10′. I have about 10 major cracks that I have secured with glue and screws (Wally’s Plaster Magic).
Any thoughts or opinion on what to do with those areas that are slightly spongey? Should I let them be or should I secure them with glue and screws? I plan to fibafuse over the whole ceiling due to the cracks and popcorn ceiling so I am concerned if I leave the spongey areas it may come back to haunt me…..

I'd go with glue and plaster caps. You're in this far, you may as well do it all now.
Yeah, good point. Thanks for your thoughts.
