I have a situation that I’ve never had to deal with before. We’re building a deck with that will be about 5′ above grade with lattice covering the open area below.
There is a hose bib that the HO would like to be extended so they don’t have to crawl under the deck every time they need to water their begonia’s. In the past we’ve either moved the hose bibs next to the deck area or just capped it off and covered the hole from the old hose bib.
There are some “faucet extenders” out there but I can’t find one for more than 10′ (we probably need 18′). What would work in this situation?

How about removing the hose bib and running copper pipe from the wall along the underside of the deck and out the side of the deck. If you do this add a tee instead of an elbow at the house and put a ball valve on it so it can be bled before it freezes.
Headstong, I'll take on anyone!
can you go into the basement and set up a bleeding shutoff.. then extend with pex to the new hose bib
Mike & Jemcon,I think your ideas may be the direction we have to go.Mike, do you know if PEX would be hurt by the limited UV that would seep through the deck boards?

I have an outside shower (hot and cold) that is mounted on a wall of the house. The supply lines are 1/2" black polyethylene tubing (with nylon elbows and PVC drain valves) that run through holes in the walls where they connect to the copper supply lines. The shower is on a west facing wall so it sees anywhere from 4 to 8 hours direct sunlight per day (water is drained in the winter but the tubing is still getting sun). The shower is at least 6 years old and the black poly tubing is as good as the day I put it in. I don't know what PEX costs, but the good old black poly is holding up well.
no help from me, but..wow..they make ten foot extenders? That's a real neat deal there. My situ is a cold crawl space and a ten foot doo dad might be the trick.

I don't know if it's the type of thing you're looking for. I found the one pictured below here.

I see. I had a differnt picture in my mind. I kinda thought that the deck was wanting a frost proof extension horizontally from the bib on the house to the outer band of the deck.
Thats a cool spigot doo dad tho', I could use that too as an extra hydrant in the yard. And cheap IMO. Thanks.

Well if ya want to get fancy.
Take the old hose bib off & replace it with a solenoid valve then run a pipe to the end of the deck with a switch next to it.
Electric hose bib------ I have actually installed one before.
