I am in the process of getting ready to build a 2100 sf, two story house. I will be using an oil-fired boiler with an indirect water heater. To save some $ (tight budget), I was going to use heating coils to get heating/coiling from the same ductwork as the central air. A relative is doing the plumbing and said he could put in hw baseboard for next to nothing. The cost savings is important, but I’m not thrilled with the looks of baseboard. I’m trying to either find some nicer looking baseboard or detailing the trim in such a way to make the hw baseboard less obvious. Any thoughts?? Has anyone had experience with cast iron baseboard? It looks alot nicer than your standard sheet metal and is more efficient. By the way, rfh is out of the question so don’t even mention it. Thanks for the help.
