Some interesting ideas on how construction workers dress. I especially like the ‘steel toed’ Tabi boots.

I have the shoes and pants. My wife's relatives in Japan had to special order them for me after our trip there in 88. Although I am thin, my foot size and inseam lenght were not "off the shelf" sizes back then. My boots were custom made from an outline of my feet drawn on a piece of cardboard by a drunk carpenter we met durring a boat trip from Miazaki. It was too funny! I didn't think either my wife's aunt or the carpenter would follow up on that crazy exchange, but three months after we got home a package arrived with the boots, pants, and a Japanese chess set. Way cool!
The boots actually go over the outside of the lower pant legs, and there are no laces to mess with. The calf part of the boot is of overlapping material with small hooks that slip into folds or eyes. The rubber sole of the boot has excelent tracktion. They are no more dangerous than athletic foot ware on a construction site. I love them but don't wear them much because they mean so much to me.

So if we give you some cardboard cut outs of our feet can you hook us up?
Naw, it takes a drunk Japanese carpenter to do it right.
BTW, I do lurk in the Tavern.
I'm not sure that cardboard cutouts of feet would be all that came from this crowd ;-)

But just image all of threads and letters to the editors about safety if youwork those on a FHB photo shoot..
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
But they would give you a better "toe grip" on the top step of that step ladder. sometimes ya just have to see the compromise to preciate it.

My dad was on a flight with a bunch of very loud Japanese drunks.....at the end of the ride, one of them apologized at length to my dad and explained that they were union carpenters, on a junket. My dad told the guy that his son was a chippy, and I got a very nice bandana/headscarf out of the deal. According to what the guy told my dad, it identifies it's wearer as an A-number-one member in good standing in the local. I don't wear it much, as it's getting threadbare, but it's an interesting reminder of the cultural differences....the same plane ride with members of the local on the job I'm on now probably would end up in court.....

I'll go for the "sexy pink halter top" along with those shoes.
Cool, very cool. I'll bet if someone bought a pair, soon everyone on the work site would be wanting them too.
I'd think I'd look too much like an Oompa Loompa in the baggy pants
Why? Do you have orange skin?
