bought a 6×6 p.t timber at the big orange! i cut it, and it doesn’t look like it is pressure treated. it looks like the treatment only penetrated 1/16 to1/8″ at the deepest.
now, i don’t work with 6×6 very often, so maybe i am being picky, but it seems like it should be much deeper. it is .40 on the tag. what do you think out there?

Bill:
I have worked with pressure treated alot and I am with u I would think that for the extra $ they would treat it deeper. I seldom see the penetration go deeper than 1/8 inch. when you cut it the guarantee is void unless you treat the exposed surfaces with cuprinol or some other preservative, that is upwards of $30.00 per gallon.
