This June I,m going to frame a house that has a sunken whirl pool tub. I ve never framed for that before and the plans are pretty vague about how much lower than the sub-floor it is.It looks like two steps; If the steps have a 7 1/2 rise thats 15 inches. Does that sound like the norm for this kind of tub installation? As far as framing it ,do I bolt a treated 2by 12 to the stem wall on the one side and post and beam on the other?Do I pour a slab? Also, it looks like the showerhead is on a glass block wall with a half circle radius; so glass block on all sides.Wheres the faucets supposed to go? The shower head itself could come out of the ceiling. I am looking forward to hearing from someone who has done this. Later maybe we can talk about the conical roofs, the radius headers I have to make and the curved exterior crown molding.I want lots of ideas.By the way whats Q-mould?

I've done this before, and documented it on a camcorder. If i can figure out how to get some still pics fom the camcorder, I'll post the pics and let you see what I did.
It was very interesting to say the least. I basically took all weight and supports off of the existing framing, and had the tub sitting in its own area. It makes more sense if you see it.
I'll do what I can for ya.
