I need to build a bridge to span 16 ft and I have been investigating my options and it looks like the most economical way to go is with wood. Does any one know how much southern yellow pine would be needed to hold 3 tons at a span of 16 ft? Also can I simply do a log bridge with the existing trees (all hard woods) on the lot?
