I told a neighbor I’d pay him the going rate to hang some rock for me. Straight forward stuff, no taping.
What’s the square foot rate in your neck of the woods?
Thanks,
Lee

Supply matls, hang and finish, lvl3, range of $1.1-$1.35/sf, new construction, remodels higher
Hang only, price wars last year got stupid, some were going down to 15 cents hang only. Since I know you've heard the prices are different everywhere mantra, I'll just tell you what I charge. 65cents a foot. I add about ten bucks per corner bead, but thats to the whole job, not just to put it up.

Thanks you guys. I'll go the way upper end since he was slow and he's a friend and good neighbor. I'm doing the taping and finishing as well as hanging the walls.
Ask not for whom the rock was hung...it was hung for me...
Awww, mud's cheap.

Rw .65per ft that $31.00 per sheet" mucho dinero!"
around $1 to supply/hang/finish ....

Around here, I think you may be hard pressed to find someone to hang only. Almost impossible to find someone good to do the finishing only. Only sheetrock subs I know of supply turnkey jobs. Builder supplies the "board". The sub supplies everything else yielding a paint-ready job. That would be about $20 a 12' sheet. When you have one company hanging, and another doing the finishing, you have taken away the incentive for the hanger to do a good job.
As far as hiring an individual to do part of a job, one shot deal, I'd think you'd expect to pay a premium over the "going rate". If it is just a garage or something like that, you may find hiring an individual to do the hanging only would be the same $ as to just go ahead and hire a english-second-language crew to hang, apply corner bead, tape and do the first mud coat.
