Some colleges offer this as a 3 year program, such as the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. For commercial work many firms would hire with an Arch or Engineering degree coupled with experience, or you can enter the profession on a junior level and work your way up. If you mean residential work, the requirements vary depending on the size and location of the firm.
