Napalm
Don't use napalm. Too dangerous.Napalm sticks to kids.
Even worse, it sticks to dogs.
You need two diferent sprays. One is permethrin or Sevin to kill the adults and the other is Nylar, an IGR, to kill the fleas that continue to hatch. I use Sevin instead of permethrin, it doesn't have as much knockdown but is safer
Use a hose end sprayer and spray about every 10 days until the fleas are gone.
KK
Im a veteren of flea and tick combat .
Im scatching my head trying to figgure out why you dont deal with this problem being a landlord.
I use permethrin exclusively.
Save your money buying all the other shid and knock them down and stomp them out . Do not buy the granules as they are like washing your feet with socks on. The reason is they dont have enough knockdown in them if you figgure the percent thats scattered about the yard. Thats the reason they dont work.
I have an atv sprayer. You dont have to have an atv but it needs to be carried around the yard and have a battery to power the pump. I do it all with that sprayer including termite protection and riddance . I use it at home to fertilize as well and kill weeds and such .
Mix it up to spray cows and thats enough to kill in the yard. It will have those mixtures on the bottle . Cheapest place to buy it is the coop or local farm store.. Buy the large container. MOre bang for the buck . Its what farmers buy as bulk. If it wont kill a cow, it wont kill a dog. Just remove water and food dishes and toys .
Just wet the yard covering all the grass not trying to wet the soil. Mow the yard short before hand and either rake it or vacumn. Burn that in a pile . I do this ;
I mow one day and the next evening or the next after its dry I come back over the yard and vacumn it . Kinda like hay. Im sure to burn it immediately in a pile . You will get fleas on you handleing it . As soon as you take away as much cover from the yard as you can its ready to spray. They have to have a place to live and you took it away. They cant live in dirt. Theres no cover in short grass. Burn the dog bed too. Be sure to soak the dog house and under it. Might as well spray the out side of the house base for spiders and such cause it will get it all. Its a good time to catch termites as well but I wont get into that here. Same stuff will do it all.
In 14 days the yard needs another go around and you should be done .
edit ; this was supposed to be adressed to overbudget.

31 yrs of being a landlord, 2 houses with cockroaches, 5 with spiders. have never had a flea problem.couple with mice.
i must be blessed.
but just so you don't think i living a charmed life.renter just called, her light bulb is out in the frig. yea i'll drop everything and get that. i swear i'm not a landlord i'm a babysitter.the older i get ,
the more people tick me off
Same stuff gets roaches and ants too, inside or out . Gets everything that crawls . I spray cabinets , baseboard and every thing with it after each renter. Ive prayed carpet several times for fleas although I dont allow pets I cant keep the sumbritches outside cause I let them ave them in the yard .
The house that I posted the link to in the other post was a rental to a family for 6 straight years. One of the best renters Ive ever had for 5 of those 6 years. They both went on the road together and left two kids home alone . For one thing it caused an all time orgry which the neighbors called and warned me about . Theres about 8 kids in that house when the parents are on the road they said. Then one morning one called and told me there was four dogs in the house and two were puppies. I went over there and said I needed to check the filter and kinda pushed my way in. Four dogs ran out the front door by me . They ruined the carpet and some of the doors and trim. It was full of fleas to. I didnt spray that hose till the carpet was living at the dump but we got ate up getting it out of there. The whole house smelled like a dog pen that hadnt been cleaned. That house got the full blessing of spray then. I got a longer hose and hook the tank on the back of the truck with a trolling motor battery. Ive done that several times like that for roaches. Just mix the stuff in the tank on the tail gate and hook it up to a deep cycle battery. I used airless paint hose cause its got 3/8s fittings on both ends and hooks up nicely to a sprayer handle.
Nah, there aint nothin to bein a landlord.

We have the same problem this year...
Went outside in shorts and sandals one morning and noticed all these black specks on my ankles. Jumped pretty high when I realized what they were.
Only thing I could figure is that we'd put out poison for the rats that were eating the tomatoes, and when they passed on the fleas jumped off.
I started spraying the yard once a week with Sevin (which is supposed to be safe around vegetables) and putting repellent on my ankles when going out to garden to keep from getting mugged.
Jencar,Sevin works great for keeping the wasp population down also. I spray where ever I think they are going to build or where I see active nests. Very few wasp since I started.KK
but i have fleas,
stay away from the dogs/pets.....

Great link!Sometimes when I'm really bored, I go outside in my shorts with a cup of water (with a drop of soap to break the surface tension) and when they jump on me, dunk them in the water. That'll teach them to bite me!(creepy, huh?)
the napalm thing looks to be a tad more of an adreneline rush though...
