How to pressure test a gas line
hi all — have the inspector coming tomorrow and need to put the new gas line for the cooktop under pressure for him to pass me. I’ll be honest I have never even seen a gas line set up for testing so I don’t know the fittings I can use to get a gauge on it and get pressure into the line (will be using compressor).
Can anyone recommend the fittings that I can use to do this. Hopefully fittings that can all be picked up at the big box – its Sunday here and in my area that means all stores are closed, I have to jump over to the next county to get anything. Though something tells me I’ll have to find an auto parts store.
I did a lot of searching online but was suprised that this topic wasn’t more popular.
Any help would be appreciated.

The technique seems to be up to the local authority. On my house I pressureized to about 15 psig and left it for 24 hrs. I think the inspector even relied on my honesty as far as what the initial pressure was. Wouldn't want to cheat on that one anyway.
This is obviously with all devices NOT connected.
