how to remove paint from limestone window sills?
how should i remove paint from my limestone window sills? the house was built in 1924. i don’t know when the paint was applied. i think the paint is latex. i have been able to pop off small flecks of paint that have loosened, but i have not been able to create the pop-offs myself. i think that water has gotten under the paint to cause it to come off. the vertical surfaces have very little paint that has come off itself.
i have heard of acids, paint stips, sand and power strips, but think that all of these are too harsh for the limestone.
thank you for your help.

Steam works.
Call your service director in Columbus.
I'm sure they've got the cure from removing grafitti.
Or, a GOOD paint store you can trust.
Or, a good stone supplier.
You can use Vinegar to remove paint from limestone window. It's a versatile liquid with acetic acid.

Any sort of acid will etch the limestone. And preferentially etch the stone where there is NO paint.
