I posted this in another thread and realized that it might be valuable to others.
I was getting pretty frustrated trying to sharpen my chisels. I couldn’t get a decent and consistent edge to save my life.
I know we’ve hashed this out several times here, believe me, I read it all trying to learn how, but this article helped me finally figure it out. I now get a consistent razor edge, every time, in no time, and I’ve got pros asking me to sharpen their tools.
I hope it helps others as much as it helped me. I think this author deserves a whole case of milkbones and a new puppy to eat them. Happy sharpening!

Thanks for the link, I was gonna settle down and get those chisels of mine back to a razor edge. I'm pretty good at it, and used to shave the back of my hand with them after using a stone and touching them up on a piece of glass.
For convenience I switched to a set of diamond stones a while back and although the edge I'm getting will mortice out a hinge, its still not the shaving quality edge I used to get.
Now I know why.
Thanks
