How to tell if these exposed beams are load bearing
They one closer to the camera goes over top of my stairs which gets very annoying. I am hoping that I can remove them. Any suggestions?

I can't tell from the pic. But my guess is they are holding your walls from spreading. That might not be the case if you had a structural ridge beam or some other trick in the framing. But wait! I finally got the picture enlarged and now I'm really confused......
Exactly why I'm so confused. I might rip a piece of the ceiling to the right in the picture to see if they're even tied into the wood or just resting on it.
