Hi,
I have a porch that’s very similar to the picture. The corner, where the pink plant is, has completely rotted due to rain seeping into the corner mitre joint. The corner is supported by a 4×4 right where the rot is. How would I support the roof while I switch out the sill. Single story, gable roof. All help appreciated.

I'd probably remove the screen and place a beam diagonally roughly from mullion to mullion, then a post down to a spreader on the floor.
Another alternative is a slanted post or two on the outside, ending at the top of the window. They could be placed next to the mullions to give you room for access at the corner.
Depends on whether you want the obstructions to be on the inside or the outside.
Dan,
Thanks. That was my plan. Should I rent a jack or an Acrow prop?
Mike
Probably no need for a jack. You can wedge/slide the post into place.
