Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has gotten the new 36V DeWalt tool kit. How does it run? Do you like it beter than any other tools you used like it? I’m considering getting a set, but the price is rather high for me now. Do you think it’s worth the $799?

The first impression I got is the same as the 24v system. Just too heavy for all day use!

This is a good place, all right.
To fill in your profile, click your own name where it's blue and underlined at the top of a post. I think there's a button called edit or update your profile there. follow the yellow brick road from there on out.
For some reason, there's no "carpenter" or "builder" under occupation. Who can say why.zak
"so it goes"
Don't let anyone tell ya its too heavy. they said that about the 18V when they came out. Makes for good Popeye arms.
Check Ebay for some deals on it. I just scored a nice 18V DW hammer/drill for a hundred bucks brand new there.
And welcome to BT...you don't have to drink to go in the Tavern btw...you just have to put up with people like .......well you'll find out.
C'mon in and pull up a stool. I'll buy ya an iced tea.
Be well

I have not used one, just checked it out at the store and it is heavy, enough that you feel the difference over the 18 volt. The 4 pack (recip, circ, light and drill) at $799 is very expensive versus what you can get the makita set for. Last year around christmas, I think it was one of the box stores, you could have had the makita recip, circ, light, drill, impact driver for around $450. I like that the dewalts run a 7 1/4 blade on the circ but the added weight and the price are big negatives.
Despite the dewalt having a 7 1/2 blade it's depth of cut at 45 is given at 1 5/8 which is the same as the v28 6 1/2 at 45. What's with that?
It's still a dewalt! They don't pay attention to that stuff, they concentrate on the important things like the color, fancy letting, etc. I frankly don't really trust dewalt to make something quality, any thing of theirs gets a lot more thought before I'll buy it.
I was able to test drive these (the Dewalt 36v) just the other day. I have had the V28 set for about 3 months now and have been very happy with it so far, so I was looking forward to doing an apples to apples comparison. Rcobb is right the 45 cut is not right, I tried to make a 45 bevel in a piece of 2x10 and it would not cut all the way through. It doesn't make sense because the saw does run a 71/4" blade. The saw took a bit longer that expected to get a full head of steam before it was ready to go to work.
The weight was considerably less than any circular saw that any of us are using now. If you hold an 18v battery and a 36v battery the weight isn't noticeable. The drill was outwardly the same as the 18v drill; hammerdrill, three speed, metal chuck.
The sawzall had a great feature that I wish that my V28 had. It has a 2 position blade holder. The first way is what would be expected for a sawzall. The other way held the blade at a right angle to what we are used to, great for those pesky flush cuts. The rep tried to call it a "4" position blade holder. He came up with "4" by saying that you could flip the blade both directions.
