I am posting this to inform anyone shopping for new windows. I have had major failure of all the Hurd Windows installed in my home. The Heat Shield 88 film inside of all the windows failed making a Very Wrinkled Effect , to the point that it is almost impossible to see out of them. This began happening just before and after the windows warranty expired. There was a class action lawsuit against the company, which they did slightly settle for the few people that knew about the suit, all of us others are now stuck with having to replace our windows with no help or compensation from the company. I did contact them that was Worthless , No Help at all The company has had to reorganize since then, their windows now Might be fine, only time will tell for sure????
I do know that I will not replace with Hurd Windows and will advise anyone searching for Windows to do the same. Why take the Chance

leapin ... sorry to hear that
the frames are good , though.... right ?
so you can go with some of these new insert windows ... like the Andersen Woodright 400
I believe he could do even better if he just replaced the glass, asuming the frames and sashs are fine.
I wouldn't put Hurds in my barn if they were free. Sorry to hear about your bad luck (you are not the first). Thanks for the reminder though.
