Does anyone have experience using Hurd windows in South Florida. We have customers that are interested in the windows but I have concerns about using these windows due to the humidity and rains that we experience. The windows in question are impact glass with wooden frames clad in metal.
Thanks

Hurd windows are still my favorite. I use them when it's possible in the budget.
I live in MI and suspect the humidity is close to what you guys experience year round and we haven't had any issues with them.

Thanks I appreciate the information.
What about the rainfall issues in South Florida
I can't comment on your rain issues, the rain storm I experienced in Florida was a tropical storm. More rain and lightning in one storm than we get here in 6 months.
We have high humidity here 6 months out of the year. We are surrounded by water like you are. ANd the windows perform very well.

My DX and I built a house off the ICWW in SC and used all Hurd wood/clad windows. They were great. And SC has significant humidity...dang near year round.
Anyway - this was back in 1991 timeframe.
I was visiting the area a few years ago, swung by the old neighborhood and folks who bought house from us, were still living in it. I stopped and asked how things were holding up? and they were still very pleased with all aspects of the house. I've no doubt if they had any issues with the windows, I woulda HURD about it...
