I am planning to install hydronic heat in a bathroom floor. So far, all I have is the 3/4″ subfloor in place. I am trying to find a concrete product that can be installed over the wood subfloor, to encapsulate the 3/8″ PEX tubing AND act as the final wear surface (I don’t want to install any other finish flooring material over the concrete). I would prefer the the concrete thickness to be 3/4″ so as not to create a step between rooms, but I do have a little flexibility there. The only concrete products I have seen so far are not recommended as a wear surface, but I’m guessing there is something out there that can do the job. Any suggestions?

This is done all the time w 1 1/2" of concrete. Don't think 3/4" would work.
