I am looking to purchase a shop!

LeeSorenson | Posted in Reader Classified on November 17, 2002 02:02am

Hey folks,

I am looking for a small quality shop to buy.  Machines and tools only, no land or buildings.  I would prefer someone on the East coast (Texas to Maine) but would consider west if the tool pulled me that way.  I am not looking to piece meal this but would prefer a complete shop.  Upscale cabinet shop is what I am looking for.  1 to 3 man operation.  Slider would be nice but could add later if the core equipment is solid.

I am an engineer traveling overseas (presently in Germany but can make arrangements to be in the states at anytime to look at the goods) and would be looking to close the deal within the next 2-6 months.  FYI over 20k is over my head (just being honest but would consider all within reason.)

Please, I understand that many of you have alot of money invested in your shop and I wish I could afford it but this is my price range.

If you are considering retirement or getting out of the business please let me know.

 Regards,

 Lee

    Lee,

There's a guy on another forum advertising the complete contents of his (now closed) workshop.  He's asking $14,000, for a whole slew of stuff.  Some high-falutin' German 3 phase tablesaw, 3 phase compressor, W&H molder (or moulder if you prefer), much much more.  Actually, some of the things he's selling I never heard of, but that's just my limited knowledge.  He's located somewhere in SE FL.  The following should link directly to his post.

    If not, goto:

    http://www.forums.woodnet.net/

Click the "TOOL Swap 'n Sell" link.

(Look for a post by "Wood Shop Guy", as I write this it's on the second page of that forum, and has over 30 posts to it, last post made Nov. 10 @ about 8 AM)

Please note, I have no relationship to him whatsoever, I just was lurking over there and thought of it when I saw your post.

If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

Thanks for the heads up, Mr Pita...

Yea, his name is Bob (aka woodshopguy) and I have spoke with him and even had my in-law meet with him in FL.  Turned out for what ever reason that when both parties arrived at the storage unit that it was closed.  I heard from both sides how it happened but all I know is that I am still without the tools.

      Regards,

      Lee
