I finally bought the Fein Multi-master
Like the title says… I finally bought the Fein Multimaster.
I got the newer version… an FMM 250Q
And it was on sale at Rockler for only $199 That was a savings of 100 bucks.
I’ll report later on how I like it.

You mean this one:

If you picked that up for $199, then I hate you. But seriously, I'm going to get one sooner or later. I'm just waiting for the killer deal or the job that absolutely requires it. As opposed to most jobs which are just made a lot easier.
I'm looking forward to your report.
yes, that is the exact one. They have one more at the rockler by me for 199.00

That is a good deal!
I sold my old one to jlazaro for 100$ and (I'm sure he'll be happy) after buying the new one for 249$, and I thought that was good!
The new one's quite a bit more powerful indeed.
I use the thing daily for whatever comes up. Today--cutting out siding for new trim around new ext door. Cutting shims off flush (yeah I know--utility knife--but remember when you do that, and the thick end never scores deep enough and when you whack it, it pulls the jamb off the framing!? ) I even used the carbide raspy thing to ease back copes on an oak trim strip up against the new threshold and between casings...
The tool is indispensable. That job that absolutely requires it is what you will likely do tomorrow..."Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing..."
Come on, Don.
what are ya saving your money for? Silly stuff like food, and gas, and clothes for the family?
Buy the thing already!
I'm so close... I just need to save a few more dollars... Hey, I got an idea... I'll sell you my Butt Taper :-)

You mean you will report back later that you love it and it won't be long before you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

That was a score!
I was actually given a Fein tool set for my birthday a couple of years ago. I've been renovating/restoring a 1920s house and as a novice to intermediate wood worker, find it very useful for fixing small inaccuracies and (okay I'll say it) mistakes. I do have a couple of beefs though. Replacement blades cost an arm and a leg and the fuzzy stuff on the back of the sandpaper is so thin it comes off long before the sandpaper is used up.
