Has anyone had any experience using ice vests to keep cool when working outdoors in searing summer heat.In Australia the summer temperature regularly reaches between 90-100 degrees fahrenheit so I’d welcome any suggestions on the most effective ways to stay cool.
Cheers
Thomas.

I've heard a few reveiws about these apparently it's like wearing a wet cold t/shirt and it doesn't take to long for it to get clamy/
We were given some on a trial basis where I work by one of our vendors, nobody liked them as they are freezing and stiff at first, what a shock to put on! Then they get pretty clammy feeling and they will chafe the heck out of you in an 8 hour day! I would pass, especially since they wanted $100 per vest at the time. Maybe they have come down since then. Something else we have tried is a head band that you wet and it stays cold for some time, these worked pretty well and all you have to do is keep them wet. Plus the cost wasn't outrageous. They have some sort of magic crystals that get cold when wet, pretty neat stuff!

Here is a link to what I am talking about, they are sort of goofy, but they work pretty well.
