I’m in to remodel that includes finishing a basement with ICF (ARXX) walls. A couple walls wil be framed inside the ICF’s. Is added insulation recommended? Is a vapor barrier needed/used with ICF’s either with or without the additional insuation?

I can't imagine why inside walls would be needed at all. The person who drew it up may have been unaware that the ARXX provides a twenty something of Rvalue plus the thermal massing. if he was only used to concrete walls, he may have followed that detail through. I would ask. Ther eis no reason I can think of to reframe inside and no reason for a VB or insulation there.

Thanks. I'm in agreement but still pretty green in working with this product that is just beginning to catch on here. I believe the framed walls are to provide depth for some theatre components though not fully up to speed on the whle job yet. Thanks again.
Some folks more expert than me may say more, but my understanding is that basement concrete walls should not have a vapor barrier on both sides. The wall needs to dry to one side or the other. With Arxx you'll be installing a waterproofing membrane on the exterior, which is also an effective vapor barrier, therefore the inside should not have one.
The Arxx basement I had built for my home in 1999 is the warmest, driest basement I've ever been in.
Thanks. I appreciate your taking the time to give me the reason for not applying a VB inside. Makes sense.
