I’ve got a wierd deck to fix. It is hung on a cantilevered (steel tubes) structure on a 4-plex apartment. The deck’s “subfloor” is ~ 2×6 but like a shiplap or tongue/groove, and that appears to be OK. Over that is a plywood sheathing which has suffered from weather & water and needs replacement.
I’ve seen some nifty rubber-like skins applied over other decks, e.g., where I’ve replaced rails or balusters. These have sealed tightly against the house, weathered all sorts of extremes and remained flexible — but I don’t know the brand name(s) or sources for this type of material.
Any hints on application techniques would be great, too. Thanks. RLQ
