Hello all,
I’d like to build a carport onto my garage (oops, I mean woodshop), since my wife is concerned that there is no room for her car in the two car woodshop. (Actually, there is no room for the woodshop, either!) I’d like to see how the elevations would look aesthetically for the carport and perhaps an addition on the other side for more woodshop! 🙂
Is there any software (easy to use, please, since I’m a dummy!) that would allow me to input the current layout and elevations and then add the new elevations?
Thanks for your help.
Alan

Yes.
*Ok, I thought I was supposed to be the smartass around here !!!What is the software, and where can I get it ?: )
*;)Computer platform? 2-D? 3-D? Surfaces? CAD?I use Cadintosh on the Macintosh, a $35 2-D simple CAD program ... for a long while i simply used the draw program that came with the computer to do plans and elevations ... I'd really like something 3-D now so I'll catch stuff like running a beam through a window sooner (oops). But like most people, I won't spend $700 for the software. For PC, Mac, and other OS's, there are many remarkable shareware products out there ... plus "crippled" or time-limited demos of more powerful packages that can be nursed along OK if your needs are light. For starters try http://www.download.com
*Here's something I'm working on in Cadintosh, reduced, and a borrowed example of 3-D surface modeling (imagine a morphing house!):View Image
