There are a few corners the same around the house. It's a real shame. I just wanted to verify, because I myself thought it was odd. Learn something new every day. Under the porch, soffit is another eye brow raiser.

Take a look at your product instructions to see their recommendations. In my mind the instructions are a good start but there are a few more added ideas on the best possible way to install vinyl and its trims.
