Good Day, eh.
I was picking up a few mag catches at Ho Depot yesterday and noticed a sign that said kitchen installations were not available at this time.
I ended up talking to the zone manager about installing kitchens for Ho Depot and we’re getting serious.
Anyone done this? and how did it work out…
The big picture for my company…we do custom cabinets so this will be easy but probably not a huge money maker. However in today’s economy, it seems to me that there might be value in “partnering” with a big box…should also lead to more sales…drywall repair, painting, flooring installations…renovations…
I rememeber an article in FHB a few years ago about a contractor who was installing for HD and had a install system that worked quite well for him.
Also for myself, it is something I could train others to do and there is the possibility that I have a crew that just looks after these installs…
Always looking for plan b and c… and to make more and steady money…
What do you think??
thanks,
silver

I installed doors for HD for a while. The money is ok but not great. Depends on the employees of the store how much time wasted at store.
Check their non-compete clause...

Seems strange to me that the economy you are in has you thinking that installing for HD would be an acceptable alternative to your main line of work. Why aren't there other installers thinking the same thing? HD should have the upper hand in finding contractors at this point. I'd have to suspect something else is in play.
Their main installers apparently got in over their head as they were installing a huge area...quality suffered...I will check their non-compete clausethanks, silver
