Thanks to those who responded to my question. My message got blitzed when the site crashed.
Any way to restate my problem….I have a 10′ bow window on my house. My local codes require a gutter on this…any ideas???
I tried to kurf the back of the gutter just as I did with the trim boards on the main part of the bow. This does’t work due to the ogee on the front. You can only get a few degrees of bend before the gutter kinks. Some suggestions came in to get a square gutter fabricated by a sheet metal shop (with the downside being cost). Another suggestion was to contact the window manufacturer for ideas. This is a good idea for standard or stock bow windows however I built this window from 5 2′ casement windows so I don’t know if they would be able to help.
Someone asked me to share my solution. The gutter installers cut 6″ to 8″ sections of gutter and connected them with pay (or maybe it is day) connectors. I’ve never seen these connectors before. They are about 1.5 inches wide and come to a peak about 120 degrees. They also peak above the gutter which sort of looks like a tooth. The result looks amazingly good. It gives a castle-like look to the gutter (imagine the teeth on the front of an excavator)
Anyway thanks for the comments and help. If anyone is interested I can borrow a digital camera an post a picture.
