I need to replace the light cans in the ceiling of a kitchen. The old ones are not airtight and leak cold air down into the kitchen. I need to install airtight cans for 120 watt spots. Is there a way to do this from below without getting into the attic, which is not accessable in this home? Once the cans are installed from below, assuming this is possible, is the insulation of the airtight cans enough to limit significant heat loss given that it will not be possible to insulate above them with a below-ceiling install? The attic is filled with blown cellulose insulation. Any particular can model that would be recommended?
Thanks for your help,

You could pull out the old cans and install new and repair the ceiling.
or,
You could get the brand name and quiz the manufacturer if their new ICT-airlocs could fit in the old housings. If so, remove 3 screws in the can, drop the can from the housing, undo the electric and then install your new ICT/airloc cans.
