installing fiber cement board shingle panels over plywood
Any advice on which product to use and installation issues for installing man made shingle panels on a pushed out, remodeled wall? Want to match a reveal line on adjacent wall ( 50 year old cedar shingles), which have a tapered reveal of 11 1/2 inches but the vertical grooved shingles are probably 15 or so inches wide so have an overlap from one row to the next of at least several inches. Most of the cement board shingle panels I see, seem to be only 12 inches wide which can’t be enough overlap for weatherproofing. Also can cement board panels be applied right over a tyveked plywood exterior or are their moisture issues doing that? Any special considerations where the panels go up against the new 7 foot Marvin window perimeter?
