Installing Linoleum vs vinyl flooring
I’ve done my share of vinyl installation, and can do a respectable job of installing a small kitchen or bath by myself. Now my client who was out shopping for their new floor (which I’m slated to install) called me and asked if I could install linoleum. Sure, of course I can… right?
What should I be looking out for as far as gotchas and differences between what I know about installing vinyl sheet goods and installing linoleum?

Arent they both sheet goods? Sounds like you're asking if you should blow your nose with tissue paper or kleenex.
AFAIK you'll be fine as long as dont crease the backer you'll be okay.
I did real linoleum countertops in my home, and it was easy. I bought the company's matching adhesive, and everything went as the instructions stated. I can't think that it was any harder than vinyl.
yeah, I told the client to be sure to get "the manufacturers recommended adhesive" for whatever they bought.
I kinda expect it to go pretty smoothly, as smooth as flopping big sheets into small spaces ever goes....as long as it doesn't fight me too badly or start wrinkling up.
I think most linoleum is thicker than most vinyl and so wrinkling should not be a problem. The guy I work with says linoleum will be more likely to crack, especially as it gets older, if there are irregularities in the floor under it. I don't know; I've never worked with linoleum, but I intensely dislike vinyl flooring--you look at it cross-eyed and it tears. You try to flop it into place and it wrinkles or kinks and leaves a permanent scar.
Fret not, you'll do a perfect job!!
