installing wood siding in the rain/snow
Is there a problem installing wood bevel siding in a light rain or snow flurries?
I am resiidng the front of the house – the tyvek is allready on. I am using rain slicker for a rain screen and the siding is stored inside – factory primed front and back and also painted agian – 2 coats front and back.
It seems to me that with the rainscreen and the fact that the materials aren’t soaked would allow for everything to dry out. I am in Upstate NY and am running out of time to get this project done – I was hoping to use the holiday.
Thanks for the help.

This is only my personal opinion, but I see nothing wrong with what you're doing.
thanks for the confirmation.
Nothing wrong with putting up the siding in this weather. I quit siding until spring, I have enough things to do inside, without being cold and wet. Besides my lift does not like to go up if it's cold out.
Where are you in the Albany area ? I probably live not far from you .
thanks for the confirmation.
I was near Saratoga - recently moved to Troy and am in a foreclosure/rehab. Based on what it looks like right now (6:30 11/22) it might not be a lot of fun to work thursday. Not sure I have time to wait - though.
U?
I live in the Guilderland area. I have not cleared out a space for my truck in the garage yet, the trucks doors were frozen shut this morning.
You do have the problem that the siding, coming from inside where it's warm, will contract slightly with the cold. You might want to let it acclimate a couple of hours outside, to get a tighter fit. OTOH, cold might make the siding too brittle.
happy?
that is something to consider - both the brittle/shatter and the exapnsion/contraction. I hadnt thought of that. Thanks.

I would get wet, cold, and cranky installing in the rain or snow; that would be a problem.
