I want to finish off my basement which has poured concrete walls. I have used fiberglass bats in framed walls in the last basement but have found the cold air between the backside of the wall and the concrete is open to the finished basement at the top of the wall. it doesn’t seem to be a effective way to go.
I want to use rigid foam board glued to the concrete and place a strip of the foam board across the top at the bottom of the floor joists to seal the concrete walls off from the inside of the basement.
how thick should the foam be, and would it be a waste to insulate the framed wall I will put in front of it.
