Insulating metal duct above drop ceiling
I have another dull basement job (about 1700 sf). There’s a lot of sheet metal ductwork for heat and AC, none of which is insulated (except for a few small runs of flexduct. Question is should I recommend insulating the supply side before hanging the ceiling grid? Returns? Primary concern is possibility of sweating in summer time.
Thanks

Red, if you can't guarantee that it won't sweat, it's just about your duty to suggest it be insulated, no? At least give the HO a heads up and some options.

Aye, good point. Wrapping it seems logical, and moral, thing to do. Thanks for the reality check.
so what is a good product to insulate the duct runs? the few choices i see are very expensive!!!
For this job, I'm going to try the foil-faced bubblewrap (Reflectix??) designed for ductwork. I haven't used it and am eager to try anything besides fiberglass. Not sure how the cost compares with fiberglass wrap, but the client will be paying for it, not me.
