I am about to pour a garage slab for my own house and am not using radiant heat) I know the questions that will come from this!)
Since I may be heating at some point, does it make sense to put 2″ rigid under the slab? I have another garage where I heat with hot water heater with a blower and the garage stays great but the floor is unGodly cold. Didn’t insulate that one.
Any experience or constructive suggestions?

I would.
It will still be cold, but not as cold as if where not insulated.
If it is not heated it will always appear cold because of the large specific heat of the concrete.
Have you looked at what it would cost to put tubing the slab now for future heat. Ithink it added 600-700 to the cost of my slab (approx 1300sq ft) including the insulation and manifolds. Installation took me all of about two hours with a stapler that attached the tubing the the foam.
Pretty cheap option in my opinion.
