Hi All
I’m new to this discussion forum.
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I’m acting as general contractor on my home. Its a 4000 sq ft , 2 storey with a walk out basement. I’m looking for input on how to best insulate – the alternatives are some type of blown in material in the exterior walls ( 2 x 6) or the standard R-21 Fibreglass. As an extra step, I’m contemplating going with rigid sytrofoam on the exterior, on top of the 3/8″ plywood sheathing. Is this a worthwhile thing to do ? What thickness to use ? I’m assuming that if I do this, I’ll have to let my window supplier know, so they can adjust the jam thickness.
Your help is appreciated.
thanks.
