i’m enclosing a porch with stucco walls. effectively moving exterior stucco walls to an interior application. rather than furring out or building walls and applying drywall i’m sort of toying with the idea of applying a interior stucco/plaster covering. dopn’t know to much about it so:
is there an interior stucco that you can put a fine finish on..or is that plaster? wire necessary?
anything else would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of surface texture is on there now? Rough or smooth? Is it painted?

the current surface is rough stucco w/ paint.

The paint is going to cause you some additional effort.I can think of three options. If the paint is very soundly adhered, you can go over it with a primer made just for this purpose and then skim-coat plaster over that.If the paint is poorly adhered but still difficult to remove, you could apply wire lathe and use gypsum wood-fiber plaster and then color coat. Someone will suggest Structolite, I don't think it's as strong as you are going to wish for. Wood fiber (like Red-Top) mixed with sand and a little acrylic in it is tremendously strong as plasters go.If the paint is really bad, consider sandblasting and then replastering.
