I am biding on a new frame job with a 28 ft by 35 ft intersecting barell vault. I have a good idea on how to go about it but don’t have a clue on how to price it. I could use any help with numbers or framing techniques.

Can you get a little bit more specific on what the plans are calling for, I am not sure if this is a 28'x35' groin vault or two hallways that are 28' and 35' long that intersect. If it's one big intersecting vault you have a lot of work involved, i would plan on 120 man hours for the framing for the ceiling itself.
yes it is a28 ft x 35 ft open rm. I agree I was planning on a couple of weeks with two men. thanks for the conformation. I can't wait to get started this is what makes framing fun.
That's a pretty big groin vault. I assume there will be a flat ceiling and the actual barrel will be more of a furr down situation. How much rise will the barrels have ? Without ceiling joists, I would break this down into 4 sections, getting a beam specced for the 28' span and hanging two beams off of it to span the 35'. Then it would be four beams from the corners to the center that I would frame the groin valleys off of. I'll dig around for a picture of one I did that was about 18x22 and post if i find it.John
start by trying the search function here and at JLConline.
There have been some excellent threads on the process.
beyond that I can not help - all I can do is marvel at the work.
